haven't made a set in ages, sorry. my surgery was yesterday and it went well for those who were wondering. i pulled something else which is making it difficult to walk but aside from that my hip is doing well i believe

this isn't one of those annoying attention grabbers, i'm actually having arthoscoptic hip surgery tomorrow. they have to put this piece of cartilage back together and shave down the cartilage. the recovery should be pretty easy, but wish me luck ♥

I was only 5 at the time, sitting in my 1st grade classroom. I honestly don't remember it at all but now, looking back on it, reading the paper today, I feel the pain. I can't imagine what that day was like, I couldn't comprehend it. Two of the hijackers were living in MY OWN city for an entire year. I can't even fathom that. To know that there are people out there that are purely evil and would kill thousands of innocent people for no reason that would ever be important enough, makes me ashamed to be here. I'm ashamed that my own race, the human race, would be so destructive towards each other. We're all human, regardless of our religion, skin tone, or country. Please remember those lost and their families who were affected. Stay strong America, we have for 10 years now. Keep turning the other cheek ♥

Last night while washing off my foundation, pressed powder, loose powder and then removing my dense eyeshadow I came up with an idea. First I thought, I shouldn't have to put products on my face to boost my confidence and feel okay about myself. I mean, guys don't wear makeup. You look at them and you see exactly how they're going to look. Nothing is going to change. But with us, we put this substance on our faces to "hide" or "enhance" our beauty. Everyone is gorgeous. Society has molded our brains into thinking that skinny, tan, hourglass figures are what is beautiful. Don't get me wrong, they're still pretty. But there's so many different body types and unique people. Don't listen to society. We need to speak up and show everyone that we're beautiful just the way we are. Not how everyone thinks we should be.
 
Anyways, about my idea. I was thinking that at school every Wednesday could be "No Makeup Wednesday". Now, I understand how difficult it would be getting people to participate. I know I wear makeup every minute of every day and I would hold onto it if my life depended on it. I want to change that though. We need to be comfortable in our own skin. We can start by ditching the products and going 'au naturale' one day a week. To help raise awareness, I want to hang up posters anonymously around school and pin up flyers explaining what it is. Here's where you guys come in. I want to hold a contest on Polyvore to raise awareness with you all. Maybe other people will join in too at your schools, that's up to you.
 
CONTEST: 200 favorites will be rewarded to the winner. Make a flyer that I can hang up around my school and I will pick the one that I fancy the most. Must include "No Makeup Wednesday" and I would LOVE if you came up with a cute and catchy slogan that describes what it is. Deadline = September 13th, a Tuesday, or 2 weeks from now. Comment the link to the flyer you create.
 
PLEASE help this circulate around, it would mean so much to me and I really want to start a "revolution". Us girls need to band together and help each other realize how beautiful we are WITHOUT the products.
